About Knowmadic Tutoring
Knowmadic Tutoring was created to provide accessible, high-quality education for children, wherever they are in the world. It is built on the belief that a strong educational foundation gives individuals the confidence and ability to engage fully with the world around them.
Knowmad (noun)
A knowmad is someone who is adaptable, self-directed and able to apply their knowledge creatively in different environments. The term combines “know” (knowledge) and “nomad” (someone who moves between places).
That is what we are growing here, one child at a time.
About Me
I spent years teaching in primary classrooms in London and Vietnam, and the same thing frustrated me everywhere I went. There were always children who needed more time than a class of 30 could give them. Children who were quietly falling behind, not because they couldn't do it, but because the curriculum moved too fast and there was never enough space to really make an impact.
When children got to talk through their learning in smaller groups, something shifted. They asked more questions, took more risks, and learned from each other in ways that simply didn't happen in a full classroom. That's why Knowmadic exists in small groups.
My own experience of learning stayed with me too. I had good teachers who gave me extra time and explained methods clearly. But for a long time I was learning how to do things without understanding why they worked. I could follow a method but I couldn't see the connections between ideas, which meant every new topic felt like starting from scratch. I didn't want that for the children I teach.
I built Knowmadic because I want children to learn deeply, feel good in themselves, and be able to access the world around them. Not just to keep up at school. To live happier lives.
