I spent 8 years teaching in primary classrooms in London and Vietnam. I noticed that there were always children who needed more time and attention than I could give in a class of 30. There were some children who were falling behind because the curriculum moved a little too fast. There were some children who needed to be challenged more. There were some children who needed more care in terms of their wellbeing.
When children got to talk through their learning and experiences in smaller groups, they asked more questions, took more risks, and learned from each other in ways that didn't happen in a full classroom. I realised I needed more time and space to make a real impact. That's why Knowmadic exists, with tailored small groups and 1:1 support.
My own experience of learning stayed with me too. I had good teachers who gave me extra time and explained methods clearly. But for a long time I was learning how to do things without understanding why they worked. I could follow a method but I couldn't see the connections between ideas, which meant every new topic felt like starting from scratch. I didn't want that for the children I teach.
I built Knowmadic because I want children to learn deeply, feel good in themselves, feel heard and understood, and be able to access the world around them. My goal is to support children holistically so that they have opportunities to grow academically, socially, emotionally and creatively , and in turn live a life with lots of opportunities and happiness.
